This is an important piece of information for all those who are aspiring to seek admission to MD/MS programs in Government Medical Colleges, Private & Minority Colleges and Deemed universities situated in the state of Karnataka. Registrations are now open for Counseling and Seat Allotment process for Karnataka Medical PG Admissions for the academic session 2018-19. We are here to familiarize you with the Important Dates pertaining to Counseling Registration, Eligibility criteria for Counseling and other required details.

Karnataka MD/MS Counseling: Important Dates

Online Registration Begins 10 March’18
Online Registration Ends 13 March’18 (Till 1:59 PM)
Last date to pay the registration fees 14 March’18 (within banking hours)
Editing Online Registration Data 15 – 16 March’18(Till 8 PM)
Intimation of verification schedule 17 March’18
Offline verification of documents (based on serial number wise Merit list) 19-23 March’18
Display of Seat Matrix and Fee Structure – for all disciplines 20 March’18
Publication of verified candidate list 24 March’18
Option Entry by eligible candidates 25 March’18
Publication of Mock Allotment Results 30 March’18
Provision to change the options 2 April’18
Publication of first round allotment Result 5 April’18
Exercise of Choice 6 April’18
Payment of fees, submission of original documents and collection of admission order (Choice-1 candidates only) 7-10 April (Till4 PM)
Last date for reporting at the Allotted Medical College (Choice-1 candidates only) 12 April (Till 4 PM)

Karnataka MD/MS Counseling: Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidate should have scored more than or equal to the prescribed minimum score in NEET-PG 2018.
  • Candidate should have completed his/ her MBBS courses from the recognized institute by MCI.
  • He/she has completed or is completing ‘Compulsory Rotating Internship’ on or before 31st March’18.
  • There is no age limit for Non-In-service candidates. For In-service candidates the age limit is 48 years as on 31st March’18
  • Important- SC/ST/OBC/ Linguistic minority eligibility criteria are applicable to Karnataka candidates only. However, if any OBC candidate of Karnataka ha not claimed OBC in NEET can claim respective category in PGET-2018 in KEA.
  • Non In-service candidates, who are already holding a PG Degree in any clinical specialty, shall not be eligible for admission to any PG degree or diploma course.
  • Any candidate who has obtained his/ her undergraduate medical qualifications from Medical colleges outside India should have qualified in Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE-Screening Test) which is conducted by the National Board of the Examinations/DCI. Moreover, they should have completed their internship or likely to complete their internship on or before 31 March’18.
