Controversial NEET SS 2017 exam to be re-scheduled?
It seems that controversies won’t leave NEET SS which was conducted first time this year on June 10 & 11 nationwide. Here is a petition put forth by NEET SS aspirants to conduct this exam again owing to various shortcomings in national counseling being conducted by NBE for admission to various super specialty courses.
Registrations now open for "DNB SS Pro Pack 2018"
Few days back, stay on counseling was put by Hyderabad High Court on August 17 for filling the super specialty medicine seats in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana medical colleges. Consequently, it was declared that seats available with the medical colleges falling under the purview of NTR Health University in AP and Kaloji Narayana Rao Health University in Telangana will be filled with only by the candidates belonging to these states complying with the Presidential order issued under Article 371-D of the Constitution which allows these states to fill all the medicine seats with local candidates.
PrepLadder will now cast light up on various concerns of super specialty aspirants, as they told to “The Times of India”, who are demanding NEET SS to be held again.
Concerns of Super Specialty aspirants, as per TOI:
- Dr. Tejaswi Shashikanth, doctor at Bengaluru, stated that counseling began without making available the complete seat matrix due to which candidates were forced to opt for the choices among limited options. Moreover, colleges such as CMC Vellore, SGPGI Lucknow, St. John’s Medical College Bengaluru, did not publicized their seat matrix. Also, he raised an issue that percentages of candidates were declared on July 15 which implies that just before the commencement of counseling; they were informed about their ranks.
- Another aspirant who wishes to do nephrology as a super specialty course, Dr Ashwin SP hailing from Bengaluru, demanded re-exam as NBE and MCC had ridiculed the admission process and thus, the system including NBE and MCC should be scrapped to eliminate corruption. Moreover, he told that the question papers need to be impartially set bearing in mind the single window exam for all super-specializations.
- Dr Abheesh Hegde from Bengaluru has raised his concern by stating that if candidates can exercise their choice in second round despite the allotment of seat in the first round, then the first counseling holds no significance. He mentioned this in regard to a notification released by MCC which stated that a candidate can exercise his/her choice in second round of counseling, when seats of remaining colleges will be made available, by the candidate who have been already allotted seat in the first round of counseling.
More Updates are awaited…
