GATE 2022 ME Paper Analysis

IIT Kharagpur has successfully concluded the GATE 2022 examination and the widely opted Mechanical Engineering (ME) stream exam was conducted across the nation at its scheduled forenoon and afternoon sessions from 9 AM till 12 PM and 2:30 PM till 5:30 PM.

While candidates left no stone unturned during their GATE exam preparation and gave the exam to their best capability, some candidates found the exam easy and others difficult.

GATE 2022 ME Paper Analysis: Forenoon Session

  • The overall ME paper of the Forenoon Session was Moderate to Tough.
  • There were 5 MSQ questions (All theoretical) in Shift 1 of the ME paper
  • A total of 25 MCQ and 35 NAT Questions were asked. 
  • Manufacturing and Heat Transfer had the highest marks weightage of 11 marks each. 
  • General Aptitude questions were easy. 
  • The expected cut-off will be provided soon.

  • There were 6 MSQ questions in Shift 2 of the ME paper
  • A total of 35 MCQ and 24 NAT Questions were asked.

GATE 2022 ME question paper will be available for download on the official website of IIT Kharagpur. The cut-off for the GATE MechanicalnEngineering exam will be available on 17th March along with the GATE 2022 result.
