How To Study A comprehensive guide for NEET PG

Owing to the intense competition and extremely difficult nature of various PG exams, candidates feel apprehensive and succumb to anxiety. With a view to relieve your stress level and ease your NEET PG preparations, we are here with a comprehensive guide for NEET-PG Let us begin with some general guidelines on how to study: Students who have not completed MBBS or are yet in 1st, 2nd or 3rd professional should focus on Standard Textbook only. It is very important to study standard textbooks during graduation. For example: In the 1st professional exam, study the textbook of Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry. In the 2nd professional exam, study the textbooks of Patho, Pharma, Micro, FM and so on in the remaining professionals.

Now, the big question is how to manage time…??

  • There is no need to study for 10-12 hours a day.
  • 6-8 hours are more than enough if you spend quality time with your books. Here what is important is the quality time when you are studying; you are only studying and doing nothing else. Switch off your phone for those 6-8 hours & fully concentrate on the study.
  • Don’t study at a stretch. Study for one and half hour/ two hours and then take a break of half an hour and again start studying.
  • You should also keep one day off every week. Break doesn’t actually waste your time but it refreshes the mind and increases your concentration.
  • Revision plays a very important role. Daily revision is very important. Before going to sleep quickly revise whatever you have studied the whole day.
  • Repeated revision of topics is also required for long-term memory.

Most Productive Subjects

  • Pharmacology
  • Pathology
  • PSM
  • OBS & Gynae
  • Anatomy
  • Microbiology
  • Ophthalmology
These subjects should be studied thoroughly. Most of the questions are asked from these subjects. MCQ book of these subjects should be done. For rest of the subjects, you can have the basic knowledge and thoroughly study last 5-6 year's papers.

How to study..??

  • Make notes/ underline in books while studying.
  • While studying for the first time, try to make notes, so that whenever you study next time you have already prepared crisp material.
  • Revise everything 5-6 times.
  • While solving the MCQs, do not see the answers simultaneously.
  • Do the MCQs at a stretch and then check the answers. When you do the MCQs without checking the answers, you are thinking about all the 4 options, then you come to know that why your answer is right or wrong. In this manner, you can study the MCQs better and you will be able to better answer in the exams.
  • Practice around 100 MCQs daily at a stretch.
  • There is no need to practice 10-15 last year exam papers. Previous 4-5 years exams papers are more than enough.

Special Tips

  • Discuss and remember
  • Don’t be extensive
  • Study less, study smart and focus on revision
  • Don’t target 100 percent questions while preparing
