Here's how to Apply for Internship after passing FMGE

Step 1

Once you receive your passing certificate from NBE, you must apply to Medical Council of India for temporary registration.

You will be given an acknowledgement tracking number sheet immediately after your application is processed. The applications are processed in the working days between 3-5 pm.

This tracking number can be used to check the status of the application online.

Do not forget to carry 5-6 Xerox copies of this tracking number sheet for further procedures.

Step 2

Now download the provisional registration form of the state medical council for which you want to apply.

Fill the form and submit it with the following documents:

Submit all these documents in the State Medical Council and on the same day, you will receive the “Acknowledgement for the Receipt of Application for Provisional Medical Registration Certificate”.

Carry this certificate and get 4-5 Xerox copies of the same. Next, go back to the person who issued the certificate and get the seal of the State Medical Council on all the Xerox copies.

Step 3

Procedure at DME (Directorate of Medical Education) Office

Write a letter addressing the DME requesting to issue an NOC (No Objection Certificate) to do your internship at the hospital of your choice.

Also, mention your name and the college from where you secured your MBBS degree.

Attach all the Xerox copies of certificates listed in Step 2 with the xerox copy of acknowledgement paper containing the seal of the State Medical Council and submit it to the chamber where NOC is issued.

It will take 3-6 days to receive the NOC.

Step 4

After obtaining the NOC from DME, go to the concerned hospital and submit a request letter addressing the superintendent of the hospital asking to issue the NOC.

Next, you must submit all the documents mentioned in Step 2 along with the Xerox copy of the acknowledgement sheet containing the seal of the State Medical Council along with the Xerox copy of the NOC obtained from the DME office  to the PA of the superintendent of the concerned hospital.

Take 4-5 Xerox copies of the NOC and get them attested.

Step 5

Take a DD in favour of the principal of your concerned college. Next, submit a letter addressing the principal of your college requesting to issue an NOC.

You must submit your academic certificates, Xerox copy of the State Medical Council Acknowledgement, NOC of DME and NOC of the concerned hospital.

Step 6

Next, you must go to the concerned university and submit two request letters addressing the registrar of the university to issue NOC to do the internship in the concerned hospital. Take a DD in the favour of the University.

Next, submit one request letter to the registrar along with the DD, academic transcripts, Xerox copies of State Medical Council Acknowledgement, NOC of DME, NOC of the concerned hospital and NOC Of the concerned college.

You must get the seal of the university along with the date seal on the second request letter.

It would take one to two weeks to obtain this NOC by post.

Step 7

Go to the DME office and write a letter requesting to issue the FINAL ORDER to join the concerned hospital.

Next, you must submit an affidavit stating that you will not demand any stipend during the Internship period.

Take a DD in favour of the DME and submit it along with the academic transcripts, Xerox copy of State Medical Council Acknowledgement, NOC of DME, NOC of the concerned hospital, NOC Of the concerned college and NOC from the concerned university.

The final order will be available within 2-3 days.

Step 8

After obtaining the final order from the DME, go to the bank and take 3 fresh Demand drafts (DD).

Take these 3 DDs and write a request letter addressing THE SUPERINTENDENT  asking to issue the internship posting schedule.

Submit these to the PA of the superintendent along with the final order, all the NOCs, tracking number, Xerox copy of FMGE pass certificate and the academic transcripts.

You must ensure that you carry the original certificates as well as the attested xerox copies of the originals while visiting various offices.
