Tie-Breaking Criteria in JEE Advanced

If the total marks obtained by two or more candidates are equal in JEE Advanced, then the following tie-break policy will be applied for allocating the ranks.

Step 1- Students having higher positive marks will be given a higher rank.

If the tie-breaking criteria at Step-1 fail to break the tie, then the following criteria will be followed.

Step 2- The student who has gained higher marks in Mathematics will be awarded a higher rank.

If this criteria also does not break the tie, then, a higher rank will be assigned to the student who has obtained higher marks in Physics.

If there is a tie even after this also, students will be given the same rank.
