NEET-PG 2018 Cut-Off Percentile reduced by 15 percent

The government on Friday decided to reduce the cut-off percentile for PG medical seats by 15 percent after receiving complaints from a large number of medical colleges that thousands of seats are still vacant due to high qualifying percentile. In accordance with the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India notification no. V.11025/05/2017- MEP dated 27^th April 2018, the minimum qualifying percentile has been revised for NEET-PG 2018 as follows:

Please note that there is no change in NEET-PG 2018 Rank for all the appeared candidates which have already been indicated to the candidates through their scorecards.

How will it benefit NEET-PG 2018 students..?

The decision is likely to benefit about 18000 students who will now get chance to take admission in post graduation and will also help in minimizing the wastage of seats. The Union Health and Family Welfare Minister JP Nadda happily accepted the decision and said, ”This is a significant step towards strengthening the medical sector and indicates the priority given by the government to the health sector.” This move to reduce qualifying marks for PG and SS Medical course has been taken for the second year in a row. Last year, the government had reduced the cut-off percentile by 7.5 to fill up vacant postgraduate and super-specialty seats.
