In this exclusive interview with PrepLadder, he shares the plan that worked best for him to help you achieve your dream PG seat. Hello, please tell us something about yourself. I am Dr. Nikhil Aggarwal, from New Delhi. I have done my MBBS from Subharti Medical College, Meerut. I cleared NEETPG-2018 with UP State Rank 3035.I have been selected for MD Anatomy at King George’s Medical University (KGMU),Lucknow by God’s grace. It has the best Anatomy Museum & Academics Record in whole of South-East Asia. It feels lucky to be a “Georgian” forever now. What do you think is the correct approach to study for NEET PG? Only MCQ's or Theory+MCQ's? Theory+ MCQ’s+ Multiple REVISIONS When should the preparation ideally be started? Ideal start time is - during Intership. I utilised my 1st year of internship by attending weekend T&D (Tests & Discussion) coaching classes alongside & made proper notes subject wise during this time. This way, I saved my time subsequently by just simply doing serious self-study after internship. Please list the books you studied for each subject. I had all my MBBS core books as ready reference besides me all the time to clear any confusion & to get a basic understanding of selected topics. I used the following sources for PG preparation- All Subject-Wise Class Notes+ ROAMs 13th Edition. Also the ROAMs Supplement 2016-17 clubbed with NEET PG SUPER30 (by PrepLadder) was helpful for last minute revisions. (I got direct 4 Questions from PrepLadder SUPER30 in NEET PG'18). I also followed the last 5 years exam papers of AIIMS+ ALL INDIA+ PGI. AIIMS ESSENCE-Dr.Pritesh Singh All India-Dr.Mudit Khanna(Book not updated after 2015 but very good quality) PGI-Dr.Manoj Chaudhary I followed the PrepLadder’s “Subject Wise Important Topics” List while preparing. I maintained an index for ROAMs important topics & pages which helped me to daily revise the core important topics of all subjects in minimal time. I made my own notes & sticked them at the appropriate places in the book itself for last minute reviews. Have you attempted any PG exam previously? If yes, what were your ranks then and what did you do different this time that lead to your success? Yes, I attempted NEET PG 2016,17 & June DNB 2017 & November JIPMER 2017 & AIIMS 2017.I gave all of these exams with little preparation & revision. My aim was to maintain the exam pressure to keep my preparation on track. Otherwise anyone would become lazy when there is just 1 annual exam to appear. I learnt alot from my mistakes in these exams & became better prepared for the next. How big is the role of practice and revision while preparing for NEET PG and how much time should be dedicated for it? 3 steps to be completed:
