Hello, please tell us something about yourself.

My name is Subhash Chandra Tard. I did my MBBS from Beihua University (Jilin China). I scored 171 in FMGE December’17.

According to you what is the correct approach to study for FMGE? Only MCQ's or Theory + MCQ's?

According to me, a combined approach of MCQ and Theory is essential.

When should the preparation ideally be started?

The best time to start your preparation is 2nd year onwards.

Please list the books you studied for each subject.

I read the following books for different subjects: Anatomy- Review book. Physiology- Guyton & Hall. Biochemistry- Satayanarayan. Pharamacology - Lippioncott and Govind Garg and Sparsh Gupta Review book. Obs & Gynae- Sakshi Arora . Pathology- Harshmohan . Surgery- Amit & Aashish.

Is this your first attempt? If No, what did you do different this year that lead to your success.

No, this was my second attempt. I gave first attempt right after my final year exams and I scored 148, that was my hard luck. Thereafter, I decided to put in more hardwork and this time I proved that with your hard work you can replace your hard luck .

What's the role of practice and revision while preparing for FMGE and how much time should be dedicated for it?

Practice and revision play a crucial role in your preparation. Without proper revision and practice you can’t decide between two close options. I think 6 months is more than enough.

Did PrepLadder played a part in your success? If yes, how?

PrepLadder played a vital role in my success
  • I followed 4 months study plan and final 2 months revision plan
  • I practiced MCQ’s, daily quiz regularly.
  • I would like to thank your team for posting motivational quotes on instagram. They were really a booster to me and I must appreciate your team work .

Did you follow a time table/study plan to keep your preparation on track?

Yes, I always believe that smart study is more important than handwork.

Were you a topper or an average student during graduation?

I was average in all my academic years.

List the most difficult and easiest subjects for you.

Difficult -PSM and anatomy Easy - Obs & Gynae, Medicine, Pharma, Patho, Physio.

One mistake that should be avoided while preparing for FMGE.

Don’t think that some subjects are more important or some are less important, prepare each and every subject sincerely.
