PrepLadder congratulates Dr. Aman Khandelwal on clearing FMGE Dec 2019 exam. We wish her all the very best for his career and future ahead. In this exclusive interview with PrepLadder, he shares his preparation plan that worked best for him to help score well in FMGE. Hello, please tell us something about yourself. I am Dr. Aman Khandelwal, I graduated from BSMU, Ukraine and I have cleared the FMGE exam with a score of 209 Marks in my first attempt. What do you think is the correct approach to study for FMGE? Only MCQ's or Theory+MCQ's? I believe just reading theory is not enough for the FMGE exam. It is better to do theory coupled with MCQs. When should the preparation ideally be started? Well, it all depends on what you are aiming for. I started my preparation 2 years ago in my 4th year as I wanted to score above 200. Please list the books you studied for each subject. I bought individual books for every subject but for FMGE exam I referred to the FMGE solutions by Dr. Deepak Marwah which I believe is sufficient. One doesn’t need to look for any other reading material other than this one. Have you attempted FMGE previously? If yes, what did you do different this year that lead to your success No, this was my first attempt. How big is the role of practice and revision while preparing for FMGE and how much time should be dedicated for it? Revision is the key to success, I studied 10-11 hours per day and in the last 15-20 days; I pumped up and increased my study hours to 15-16 hours. 2-3 revisions are a must before the exam. Did PrepLadder play a part in your success? If yes, how? Yes, PrepLadder played a major role in my success especially Dr. Gobind Rai Garg, he is amazing. I started my preparation with pharmacology with his app. I studied 3-4 subjects only with rapid revision. Thanks to PrepLadder for so much informative stuff. List the most difficult and easiest subjects for you. Most difficult- Biochemistry and Surgery Most Easy- Medicine ( because of Marwah Sir ), Pharmacology, Pathology, and all the minor subjects. Did you use a time table/study plan to keep your preparation on track? If yes, how? Yes, I did as I’m a very punctual guy. I always followed a disciplined routine. Were you a topper or a mediocre student during graduation? No, I was an average student but yes, my concepts were very clear at that time as well. One mistake that you believe everyone must avoid while preparing for FMGE Just stick with one source, don’t try to find new sources and study material for preparation. Some last tips for our readers preparing for FMGE? Just relax! It’s just an exam. All you have to do is believe in yourself and you will definitely clear the exam. We thank Dr. Aman Khandelwal for sharing his success story. PrepLadder offers FMGE coaching online for aspiring medical students.
