In this exclusive interview with PrepLadder, she shares her experience and plan that worked best for her to help score well in FMGE. Hello, please tell us something about yourself. My name is Dr. Shabna Aboobacker. I'm a student of Wuhan University China. I participated in 2 FMGE Mocks by Dr. Deepak Marwah and scored 153 and 168 marks. This encouraged me to work harder and I finally scored 207 marks in FMGE June 2018. According to you what is the correct approach to study for FMGE? Only MCQ's or Theory + MCQ's? Both MCQ + Theory should be given equal importance. When should the preparation ideally be started? The ideal time to start the preparation is the first year. Please list the books you studied for each subject. Honestly, I didn't refer any books except Dr. Aman Setiya Sir's Pathology Book. Till my 5th year, I studied mainly the ppts given by my university professors and some videos of Dr.Najeeb. I seriously started preparing for FMGE in my 5th year and joined 2 months AFMG coaching during my 5th-year vacation in Feb and March 2018 where I got coaching for 11 subjects which helped me a lot. Remaining subjects I mainly focused on FMGE Solutions. I had revised this book thrice. I also attended PrepLadder Mock tests which I found very useful during my preparation. Is this your first attempt? If No, what did you do different this year that lead to your success? This is my first attempt. What's the role of practice and revision while preparing for FMGE and how much time should be dedicated for it? Practice and revision is the key to crack any exam plus determination and persistence are also equally important Did PrepLadder play a part in your success? If yes, how? Yes. The daily quiz and image-based questions were really helpful. And I also attended the mock tests which gave me a lot of practice. Thank you so much PrepLadder Did you follow a timetable/study plan to keep your preparation on track? Yes. I had a study plan but I failed to follow it many times but I was so determined that I didn't give up sticking to it. Were you a topper or an average student during graduation? Average List the most difficult and easiest subjects for you. Difficult-Anatomy and Pharmacology Easy-Micro, Biochem, Physio, ENT, Ophthal, Forensic. One mistake that should be avoided while preparing for FMGE. One should not lose hope. Some tips for our readers preparing for FMGE? As I mentioned before practice, revision, determination, and persistence have helped me achieve this. Please don't give up and never lose hope. We thank Dr. Shabna Aboobacker for sharing her success story. Keep Following PrepLadder...
