PrepLadder congratulates Dr. Hemapriyathota on clearing FMGE June 2018 exam. We wish her all the very best for her career and future ahead. In this exclusive interview with PrepLadder, she shares her experience and plan that worked best for her to help score well in FMGE. Hello, please tell us something about yourself. I am Dr. Hemapriyathota. I did my graduation from Jinzhou Medical University. I scored 211 marks in FMGE June 2018. According to you what is the correct approach to study for FMGE? Only MCQ's or Theory + MCQ's? Theory and MCQs. If we are so good with theory. We can solve any type of question but when we study all 19 subjects together, we may feel like we forgot everything. At that time, Mock tests are of great help. A complete analysis of mocks helps us analyze our performance and find out our weak areas. Here I would like to mention that PrepLadder’s mock test carefully analyzed our performance by giving subject individual scores so that we can know in which subject we are lagging. When should the preparation ideally be started? I believe if we study for 4 months sincerely that is enough. Please list the books you studied for each subject. I didn't follow any author books. I only studied my notes and revised it ample no. of times but when I was in my college. I used to watch Kaplan videos and material given by our Indian lecturer Dr. Harinath. Is this your first attempt ? If No, what did you do different this year that lead to your success? Yes, this was my first attempt. What's the role of practice and revision while preparing for FMGE and how much time should be dedicated for it? Only one time studying is not sufficient to remember all the subjects. Timely & thorough revision is required for a good memory. In the last 3 days, just make a quick revision by turning the pages & memorizing things. This will make you more confident. Did PrepLadder play a part in your success? If yes, how? Yes, PrepLadder played an important part in my success. I used to study important topics & then do PrepLadder’s mock tests. I even participated in Pre-FMGE Mock by Dr. Deepak Marwah and scored 139 and 175 marks respectively. The mocks were of great help. Did you follow a timetable/study plan to keep your preparation on track? Yes, I followed a study plan because studying a single subject whole day is quite boring. So, I used to divide the topics of each subject and complete it in some days again I used it repeat the plan and next revision won't take much time as earlier revision. Were you a topper or an average student during graduation? I was just an average student all through my college days. List the most difficult and easiest subjects for you. Pharmacology and Microbiology are the most difficult subjects for me. Anesthesiology and pathology are easiest subjects One mistake that should be avoided while preparing for FMGE. Everyone will have the feeling that we may not clear the exam this time at that time we should overcome that fear and again start our preparation. Just be calm and revise again but don't give up and think we will do next time. If we miss by 1 mark then we will regret a lot Some tips for our readers preparing for FMGE ?
