PrepLadder gives our heartiest congratulations to Dr. Rahul Khan on clearing FMGE Dec 2019 exam. We wish her all the very best for his career and future ahead. In this exclusive interview with PrepLadder, he shares his FMGE preparation plan that worked best for him to help score well in FMGE. Hello, please tell us something about yourself. I am Dr. Rahul Khan, I graduated from Avicenna Tajik State Medical University, Dushanbe, Tajikistan and have cleared the FMGE exam with a score of 211.   What do you think is the correct approach to study for FMGE? Only MCQ's or Theory+MCQ's? Theory + MCQs is the only way to approach to study for FMGE, trust me there is no other way. When should the preparation ideally be started? Ideally, it should be done from the very beginning, but for me, I prepared only for 6 months. Please list the books you studied for each subject. I preferred classroom notes only which are more than sufficient to pass FMGE. Have you attempted FMGE previously? If yes, what did you do different this year that lead to your success Yes, I had given the FMGE exam in June 2019. The only thing which was different this time was hard work. I never studied seriously before June 2019; I studied 4 to 5 subjects that too only once due to which I got 124 marks. It was a low score that motivated me to work harder. How big is the role of practice and revision while preparing for FMGE and how much time should be dedicated for it? Revision is the key to success. I revised each subject 4-5 times (except Medicine and surgery). Without revision, it is very hard to remember the answers to questions that come as direct MCQs in the exam. Revising some subjects frequently is more important rather than studying all subjects one or two times. Did PrepLadder play a part in your success? If yes, how? Yes, PrepLadder worked as a catalyst in my preparation. In the first FMGE attempt, I got 203 marks; it was an unbelievable score for me because I didn’t know about my preparation level at all. This result really boosted me and my performance, as a reward PrepLadder gave me 3 months free rapid revision course, which was very helpful for me for practice. As a result in my second attempt, I got 211 marks. The PrepLadder all India test marks give you an idea about the marks in the main exam. It was the exact case for me. It is unbelievable how the test papers prepared by Dream Team which are exactly like the main exam. List the most difficult and easiest subjects for you. Every subject is easy if it is studied properly. Pharmacology was my favorite because of Dr.Govind Rai Garg sir. Did you use a time table/study plan to keep your preparation on track? If yes, how? Yes, I made a complete Time table for my exam preparation. I made it monthly and made sure to complete all the tasks according to it, which was very helpful. Were you a topper or a mediocre student during graduation? No, I wasn’t a topper but I got good marks during my graduation. One mistake that you believe everyone must avoid while preparing for FMGE Do not follow multiple study sources. Just follow only 1 app or 1 book properly, you can’t grab all the books or all the apps; follow just 1 thing, that is sufficient. Some last tips for our readers preparing for FMGE?
