Problems Faced By FMGE Aspirants

1. Difficulty level of the Exam “Too High”

Most of the aspirants complain that the standard of the FMGE exam has been raised to post-graduate level over the past few years.

Aspirants claim that the exam is “too tough and of the post-graduate level” which makes it difficult for them to qualify the exam despite several attempts.

 2. Lack of Transparency

Most of the aspirants claim that there is no transparency on the part of NBE regarding the screening exam and its standard. Many people demand that question paper and answer key should be released post exam.

3. Discontented with the Selection Process

Aspirants complain that after clearing FMGE they have to clear another exam for admission in PG.  This wastes a lot of time and effort.

However, it is proposed to replace FMGE with NEET PG(as both licensing and PG entrance exam). 

4. Lots of Time and Money Wasted

Unlike in India, the duration of MBBS course in some foreign countries is seven years.

Candidates land in a tough spot since after spending 7 years and Rs. 25-30 Lacs on MBBS, they still do not have job security.

5. Free of Cost Internship

Even after qualifying FMGE, candidates only get a temporary registration with MCI and are required to do a free of cost Internship for one year to get a permanent registration.

6. No Fixed Syllabus

Most of the Candidates complain that the syllabi of the screening exam is not fixed and they have to study 19 different subjects. This is unlike some overseas tests where they have to prepare only a fixed set of subjects.

7. Lack of Familiarity with the Online Platform

This problem is faced by most of the FMGE aspirants since they are not accustomed to the online platform.

Lack of acquaintance adversely decreases their speed and accuracy in the exam.

This greatly reduces their overall attempt and chances of qualifying in FMGE.
