NEET-UG 2021: Ways to re-strategize your preparation

1. Plan your revision wisely

Strategize and make some changes in your exam preparation during this month. Make the most of this time to re- revise the entire theory portion of all three subjects. Once you’re done with that, focus on practicing mock tests and revising your weak topics.

2. Do not let the delay affect your preparation

Do not let the deferring of the NEET-UG exam hinder your NEET preparation. Keep going stronger with your exam preparation by fixing your eyes on the prize. It is normal to feel frustrated and impatient but choose to use this delay to your advantage to better prepare for your exam.

3. Changes in the NEET exam pattern

In this year’s NEET exam, each subject will be divided into 2 sections namely: Section A and Section B. It will have a total of 35 questions, which will be based on a common syllabus as notified by the National Medical Commission (NMC). To cater to different forms of syllabus reduction by various school education, an option is provided to select 10 out of 15 questions in Section B.

4. Mistakes to avoid during NEET Preparation

Do not fall into the trap of following multiple study resources to avoid unnecessary confusion. Additionally, build your own notes for preparation and do not refer to someone else’s notes. This will be helpful in last-minute revisions.

5. Subject-wise in-depth revision of the concepts

For the Physics portion, make a list of notebooks containing all the important formulae and refer to them while solving numerical. Ideally, you must be thorough with the solved examples before practicing the unsolved questions. You can follow a similar approach for Chemistry as well. When it comes to Organic and Inorganic Chemistry, make sure to keep short notes handy as they will help in quick revision. For the Biology section, prepare flowcharts for various mechanisms and refer to them before solving MCQs. 

6. Books for final revision 

As a NEET-UG aspirant, you should be thorough with the NCERT books of all three subjects from the 11th and 12th standards. Also, refer to all the examples for all 3 subjects which are published by NCERT since they are extremely helpful in the final revision for the exam. Last but not the least, make sure to refer to the previous 10 years’ questions of the NEET exam as it will give you a better idea of your weak and strong areas.
