I am Dr. Mihir Pandya, I graduated from Bukovinian State Medical University (Ukraine) and have cleared the FMGE exam with a score of 219.   What do you think is the correct approach to study for FMGE? Only MCQ's or Theory+MCQ's? The correct approach is to read and understand the theory completely and then solve the MCQs subject wise. When should the preparation ideally be started? I had started my preparation a year ago. So, according to me, the ideal time to start your preparation would be a minimum of one year for the exam. Please list the books you studied for each subject. Pathology review book-by Dr. Sparsh Gupta, Complete review of medicine-Dr Deepak Marwah, FMGE solutions-Dr Deepak Marwah Dr. Siraj Ahmed, My medicine, Pediatric notes-Dr Deepak Marwah, Review of OBS and Gynecology -Dr. Sakshi Arora Hans, Rapid Revision by PrepLadder’s Dream Team was most helpful. Have you attempted FMGE previously? If yes, what did you do different this year that lead to your success No, this is my first attempt and by God's grace and parents blessings, I have cleared in the first go.  My main boost was given by PrepLadder’s Dream Team because they were always uploading motivational videos. My special thanks to Dr. Apurv Mehra sir and Dr. Gobind Rai Garg sir. How big is the role of practice and revision while preparing for FMGE and how much time should be dedicated for it? You should give your 100% while preparing for the exam. During my preparation, I was reading two subjects a day coupled with practicing MCQs from PrepLadder’s QBank daily. Did PrepLadder play a part in your success? If yes, how? PrepLadder played the main part or I should say it was the root cause for my success. Thanks a lot to the whole PrepLadder team. List the most difficult and easiest subjects for you. Difficult- Surgery and Physiology Easy- Anatomy, Biochemistry, Pathology, Pharmacology, OBS Did you use a time table/study plan to keep your preparation on track? If yes, how? Yes, I made a study plan with a proper weekly schedule to complete the subjects and I was successful in completing the subjects according to my study plan. Were you a topper or a mediocre student during graduation? I was a mediocre student yet a consistent student. One mistake that you believe everyone must avoid while preparing for FMGE Don’t go for too many notes, stick to the of the same subject notes. If you are reading from notes continue with notes and please don’t go for too many review books, if you are preparing in the last 5-6 months. Some last tips for our readers preparing for FMGE? Make weekly study plans and not monthly. Just believe in yourself! No matter what people say. Best of luck guys!!!! For aspiring medical students, PrepLadder provides FMGE coaching online.
