What is the Pattern for the JEE exam?

The JEE main exam 2021 will be carried for B.E/ B.Tech, B.Arch & B. Planning by online mode. JEE Main 2021 exam pattern is critical for candidates appearing for the IIT JEE exam.
Candidates who observe and grasp the exam pattern can prepare a successful study plan and ultimately perform well in the exam. Simultaneously, students can timely perform JEE exam registration, apply for examination forms and receive their admit cards to save time.
We will put some light on the detailed information about JEE Main 2021 Exam Pattern through this blog. From 2019 onwards, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has the authority to design and develop the JEE Main syllabus and exam pattern. The NTA has introduced some new changes for JEE exam 2021 pattern and dates that are as follows.
- There will be four sessions of the exam rather than two. The Paper 1 exam will be carried out in February, March, April and May. However, Paper 2A and Paper 2B (B. Arch and B. Planning) will be conducted twice a year (February and May 2021).
- Paper 1 will now consist of 90 questions where 20 questions will be asked in section A and 10 in section B. Students can solve a total of 75 questions, i.e, 20 questions from section A and 5 questions from section B for all three subjects (Physics, Chemistry, and Maths).
- Paper 2A is meant for B.Arch courses only. It will consist of 82 total questions. Out of these 82 questions, students can attempt only 77 questions (Mathematics- 25, Aptitude- 50 and Drawing- 2). Paper 2A comprise a total of 400 marks.
- Paper 2B will comprise 105 questions, and students can attempt 100 questions out of 105. Paper 2B also comprises a total of 400 marks.
- For Paper 2A and Paper 2B, students can solve any five questions out of ten the numerical value-based part in the Mathematics section.
- The question papers will be in 13 different languages.
Important Highlights of JEE Main Exam Pattern
JEE Main primarily consists of 3 papers and conducted in 2 shifts – morning and evening. The usual plan of the exam pattern for JEE Main is provided below;

JEE Main Exam Pattern 2021 Description
The JEE Main 2021 exam pattern shows how the exam will be conducted and how the JEE Main question paper will look. JEE Main will be held in four sessions; the first session of the exam will be held in February, while the other sessions will be held in March, April and May.
However, the circulars and notifications of the exam are usually released on the official website and candidates can see the updates and understand the latest details about the exam. The exam conducting authority NTA may include new changes from time to time. Although, we will look at the exam pattern for JEE Main 2021 below.

In paper 1 each Subject will contain two sections. Section A will consist of Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs), and Section B will consist of Questions whose answers will be filled as a numerical value.
In Section B, students have to attempt any 5 questions out of 10, and there is no negative marking.

Note- 20 questions will be of MCQ types and 5 questions will have answers to be filled as a numerical value out of 10 questions. There is no negative marking for numerical value questions.

Additionally, it is beneficial for JEE aspirants to carefully read all the instructions that are provided in the question paper. Grasp it clearly and then move to solve all questions. It is important to follow the correct pattern for the exams because gaining a negative marking or losing points may lead to a higher rank in the exam.
