PrepLadder congratulates Dr. Iniya Sangavi on securing Rank 17 in NEET PG. We wish her all the best for her career and future ahead. In this exclusive interview with PrepLadder, she shares the plan that worked for her to help you get an amazing Rank in NEET PG.

Hello, please tell us something about yourself.

Hi I am Iniya Sangavi from Coimbatore Medical College, my NEET PG AIR is 17.

What do you think is the correct approach to study for NEET PG? Only MCQ's or Theory + MCQs?

Only theory or only MCQ will leave us clueless. I always had a combined approach.

When should the preparation ideally be started?

I started it only after my internship in March 2016. I believe that it doesn't matter when we start it is the quality of your preparation that counts.

Please list the books you studied for each subject.

Anatomy- mostly Ashwani notes and Arora Physiology- notes and Arora Biochemistry- Rebecca mam class notes Pharmacology- Saurabh sir’s notes and Sparsh Gupta sir’s book Microbiology- Vasanthapriyan sir’s notes and Apurba Sastry book Pathology- Devesh sir’s notes and book Skin- only notes by Manish Soni sir OBG- Revathy Ratan mam book Surgery- Rajamahendra sir’s book Orthopedics- Apurv Mehra sir odd booklet

Have you attempted PGMEE previously? If yes, what did you do different this year that lead to your success?

This is my first attempt. I didn't attend any previous PGMEE.

How big is the role of practice and revision while preparing for NEET PG and how much time should be dedicated for it?

Revision is the key to success and also the most painful thing too. But don't worry, keep on revising. At least 2 months and 3 cycles are required for success in NEET PG.

Did PrepLadder play a part in your success? If yes, how?

Yes, I registered for NBE Snapshot by PrepLadder. Of particular mention is their improvement plan that told me exactly what areas I was lacking in. So I did not lose marks even in my weak areas. Image based questions helped me a lot since many of them were repeated in my NEET PG session.

Did you use a time table/study plan to keep your preparation on track?

Yes, I did, without timetable I would’ve been really clueless about my speed. It's ok to deviate one or two days but follow a timetable of your own.

Were you a topper or a mediocre student during MBBS?

Not a topper and not a mediocre too.

List the most difficult and easiest subjects for you.

The most difficult ones for me were biochemistry and microbiology because they are highly volatile. But repeated revisions made it easy to remember them.

One mistake that you believe everyone must avoid while preparing for NEET PG.

Always stay positive while preparing, negative thoughts are big demon, keep them away from you.

Some last tips for our readers preparing for NEET PG?

I believe in hand written notes more than any MCQ book. Always have a notebook handy while preparing and make notes, tables and diagrams of your own. These notes will prove to be a life saver when you start revising. All the best everyone.
